I am ready to ram my pen in my eye. This is how completely and utterly frustrated I am in this damn class right now. I am currently sitting in PR 495-Sports and Entertainment. Which in theory is supposed to be a great class, especially since I want to work in the music industry. But noooooo, it really kinda sucks. No not kinda-it DOES suck. It SUCKS ASS! All the prof does is talk about NASCAR--yes as in vroom vroom the white-trash car-racing "sport." That's all she does. She talks about Nascar to no end. She never shuts up. It is so freakin' annoying. Once she almost made it through the entire class w/o talking about it. With 15 short minutes left, though, she launched into a spiel about just how great one of the racers is. I was so hopeful up until that point. But nooo-she had to screw it up.
Ooohhh-today we're talking about sports merchandising. Aww-unfortunately she didn't think she'd get to this point in the lecture so she didn't bring any of her merchandise with her. Bummer. :) I don't have to stare at racing crap. That makes me so sad. :)
It's actually kind of funny. There's like 27 students allegedly in this class. Half of them don't even show up for class. The other half...we all have our laptops with us and we don't even pay attention to the lecture. I can't help but feel a little bad for the prof-she's lecturing and staring at the backs of all of our laptops (or "craptops" as referred to by my friends and I). I can't believe that she hasn't gotten pissed about this and banned them from class. Gotta love Northern-the Connected Campus, the Laptop University. Northern...Naturally. Whatever!!! Judi Bailey is the DEVIL!!! Argh. (If you don't know what I'm talking about go to www.nmu.org and you'll see exactly what I mean.) At least, though, I have this opportunity to write while in class. I don't think that I'd be able to do that at any other university. There's one bright spot to being here, in the middle of Butt-Fucking Egypt...aka the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Marquette, nonetheless. Wheee.
