Operation: Get Em Here [ May 19, 2007, 12:33 am ]

I have a new mission in life. (Note: this is going to matter to, like, one person who reads this. The rest of you can go back to doinking around on MySpace or pretending to work. Consider yourself amply warned.)

My family coming down to see me the weekend of July 20th. And why? Because by some act of GOD we scored tickets to the very-quickly sold-out showing of Wicked.

What else is happening the weekend of the 20th? Only the biggest thing to rock the literary world.

Harry. Potter. 7.

In Krissy-verse this is bigger than the Idol finale, a showing of Rent and a night of karaoke with friends all together. Harry Potter! Squeee! Who will live? Will Harry die? Will Ron and Hermione finally just grow up and hook up? Will Voldemort be vanquished? Nobody knows! Yet.

Who else can appreciate this? My best friend ever. And who happens to live by my mom and could easily just jump in on my family's road trip.

Why, that would be Emily.

It's like the stars are aligning. It's like God could bless us. It's fate! It's karma! We deserve this! We only see each other twice a year at most--we're used to seeing each other on a daily basis! This whole long-distance thing is just too much! And now something good could happen. Hopefully.

This could work. This HAS to work. Because Emily and I have stood in line for the release of every Harry book since the fourth one. It's tradition!

Nothing comes between us and our traditions. Not even 500 miles.

Not if I have anything to say about it anyway.

Ciao, dahling!
